if you see 'sexist pig" as a negative, it can.

The term is WAY overused. For that matter, I've seen too many cases where the people who most used the term and its ilk were themselves sexist as hell. Sort of like the people who use "prejudiced!" the most are almost always seriously prejudiced themselves.

And this is why a lot of men treat women as disposable these days. Being a gentleman is equated to being sexist. Paying for dinner, opening doors, and treating someone like they are special, is not being an ass. Harry is a gentleman who actually respects women. He is labeled as a pig because of it. He has on multiple occasions refused to take advantage of women when he could have.

Don't count me as one of those kind of women.. It is called manners, and just because a man chooses to be a gentleman, that doesn't mean the woman can't be a lady and accept with grace and return the compliment.  It is about respect for one's talents, brains etc on an equal basis.. A man opening a door for me is not degrading in any way.. And hey, I'd do the same for him.

And being a chauvinist pig I would check out your bum while you do it, and tell you thank you. In all seriousness, that was directed at neuro obviously. In my life I have found more women liked to be treated with manners and decency than with the cold callous uncaring attitude that radical feminists seem to think is both proper and a sign of the patriarchy. Seriuously, men are attracted to women for the most part. Women are attracted to men for the most part. There is a reason a lot of these actioans take place. It seems that the most civilized countries are the ones where women are considered something to be loved and desired. We are humans not vulcans and in the end the needs of the many do not out wa the needs of the few in everyday reality.

Hehe, Duckie, good one!

Back to topic of Marcone...I wonder how in heck he and Helen ended up getting together.  Do you think she put the moves on him, or he put the moves on her? I can't imagine him initiating things, given what he knows about her daughter.  Unless she used the "flirt with a guy til HE asks you out" technique - my personal favorite.  Grin
