Oooh, love the title! Very, very noirish. Any idea on a release date, or is it tentative?

Sounds more comedy-ish to me, will have to wait until Spring '10 to find out.
Just curious aside from Strange Brew do we have any other release dates for Short stories yet?

If I remember correctly, the title was originally used by the 1930's news photograph Arthur "Weegee" Feld, when he put together a collection of his crime scene photographs.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean the title I meant the description on the page Priscellie linked to. It said something about the real reason behind the Cubs Curse. I just thought that particular plot sounded more humorous than noirish.

Given that the anthology will not be released until Spring 2010, why do I get the feeling that there are 2 versions of the "Curses" story floating around and that the one that gets published will depend on whether or not the Cubs actually win the World Series...

Whoops! Sorry! Re: the "Curses" title. I know it's about the Cubs Curse, but does anyone else hear Snidely Whiplash saying, "Curses! Foiled again!"

You mean the Goat wasn't involved in the Cubs curse? They, the Cubs, have certainly played the goat over the years. Or, as the late Jack Brickhouse once said, "Any team can have a bad century."

Well, that's a broader range of "urban fantasy" than the anthologies Jim's had stories in so far, I might even end up buying it. I love Ellen Kushner and Caitlin Kiernan. (Their work, I mean. Though Ellen's a lovely person; I've not met Ms. Kiernan.)
