How do you study magic in the Dresden world. I sort of remember scenes from Summer Knight where Hary describes KidHarry and KidElaine studying magic under Justin DeMourne. Is there a lot of math involved? How do you mesure magic power? How do you know how much you need, and how do you know if you have enough to preform a spell?

I'm guessing similar to the way Molly studies magic.  Moving things, concentration tasks, control feats, etc.  Harry has always said physics still applies as well....so you would have to learn the relative relationships between how much backlash there is for various applications.  Harry and Elaine hand an abusive psychopath wizard version of an evil nun with a big ruler smacking them to punish mistakes.
