You may discuss any topic you want to on this board.  Nothing is too off-topic, so long as it is not illegal, and does not lead to a flame war. In all things, be polite, civil, and open to different opinions.  The moderators reserve the right to shut down any threads that they believe are spiralling out of control, or for any other reason.

[UPDATE 26 May 2006:] The moderators will occasionally move topics out of this board to other boards if it looks like they're on-topic elsewhere!

Side note: There are some specific threads stickied regarding things like "other authors to try." You are not restricted to posting things about other authors there...it's simply something convienant, a tool. If you want to get into a lengthy discussion about the socio-economic impact of butter in the Thomas Covenant series, that's perfectly suited for its own thread.

One caveat: Jim  has requested, in the past, that we do not get into author's non-professional lives type of gossip. Example: Saying Rachel Caine broke her arm and giving updates is fine...that's a fact. Speculating on LKH's lovelife as reflected in her writings is a no-no.
