Good thing, anyone else reading it would be a tragedy of monumental proportion.

There is a God! DF audio without James Marsters would be intolerable.

Agreed, hearing TDF as read by someone other than James Marsters - unless its Mr. Butcher - would just be weird.

I have all 12 books on audio. It's perfectly timed. Half way to March 26, 2011. It will satisfy both my Dresden and Marsters fixes.

I have to confess that I became interested in the Dresden Files because I heard about 3 years ago that James M. did the audiobooks (yes, I'm a fan of his and his work on BTVS). Anyway, I was curious so I got the first book, and loved it! I haven't stopped reading them or listening to the audiobooks since then. Now I'm also a fan of Mr. Butcher.
James M. does a very good job with the books, so it is happy news (His interpretation of Dresden's emotions during the last chapters of Changes were so moving!). I don't think I'll get the same feeling if I hear Harry with someone else's voice.

I don't know why, but when I read this I thought: What if they had been able to get Donald Pleasance or James Mason to read it. (they're both dead now but have great voices) Sorry... just a little joke. Maybe Sir Richard Burton (ie, the War of the Worlds rock opera - also dead )

HURRAY!! I had actually gotten a couple of the anthology books with a Dresdan story from audible and found while I enjoyed the other stories I couldn't listen to the Dresdan one when it wasn't James reading. It broke my heart I couldn't get thru the story about Michael. I will say this, Jim actually does a really good job with the anthologies he submits stories too. I can usually enjoy 3/4 of the other authors. I hate buying a anthology for just one author.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I'll buy the audiobook as well as the book then. Do we know who is reading the audio of Dark and Stormy knights yet? Couldn't they just have Marsters do the Marcone story, even if someone else does the rest of the stories...?!? Hearing Marsters do Marcone's voice gets me all excited.

Best news I've had all week! My only disappointment is that Even Hand isn't in there... James would have done a great Marcone voice! But I'm looking forward to his interpetation of Thomas and Karrin's voices. He assigns "voices" to different characters, and then is very true to character. Like, you can always recognize when Butters is talking, even if it doesn't say so in the book.

Agree on the voice es but his luccio has been all over the place. It started Russian or Slavic. Even though it clearly stated Italian when she was introduced. Then it settled and maybe it was on purpose because he shifted it to match her new bod. Making it younger and now I love it. (Relistening to turn coat now) we don't. Get to see him often enough. :-)

James Marsters is not quite the voice I had in my head of Harry...but he does such a great Job... I like the way he does it. I think his Bob is fantastic.
