And we didn't have Doritoz, we couldn't afford fancy food snacks like that! We ate dirt! And we were thankful for eating dirt!

Not only are the miniatures widely available, some varieties come prepainted (the Hero Clix stuff, I think?).    And yet with all this available, it is still quite common to come across the Silver Army of Ultimate Laser Protection.   

Better though it may be, I still feel inclined to raise my fist in rage at FASA on occasion:  Battletech in "Z" Scale minis?  *grumble grumble*
