Listened toi it, but for some reason, some of the conversation with Priscellie wasn't so loud -- I had to turn the speakers and sound card all the way up to hear it. Did anyone have the same problem?
I'll try to keep an eye/ear on that in the future. The volume levels fluctuated a bit over the course of conversation, and I tried to adjust where I could. Just on my side, or your side as well? If it's just me, it's probably because I was holding the dinky little microphone up to my face, and I may have been moving it closer and further away over the course of the conversation. I'll have to be more aware of that when we do the Timeline 'cast. Anyway, I have to say, I'm so glad we did this yesterday. The tingling in my throat yesterday morning has evolved into a full-blown cold. I'm more than slightly miserable.

Ahhh, the holding the microphone thing explains some of the breath noise bits. I think the problem was mostly on your end, but I had a few changed-my-position bits as well. I try to stay in the same relative distance with my new mic, but it's something that sits on a stand, and my old setup was headset based, so I haven't developed the right habits yet. Sorry to hear about the sick! You're right about the timing, but get well all the same!

I'll have to download this to listen to it this weekend (my car has too much road noise to listen to it on the crap FM transmitter from my ipodesque Sandisk). Re tagging me for a future show: While I worked at the college radio station and have done voiceovers, I have no idea how I'd interview on the other side of the mic, as that's not a 'radio-voice' type thing. This...might be an experience. I tend to free-associate and go off on popculture tangents worse than a Gilmore. My apologies in advance if you have to do more editing than normal, Fred. I know little about Skype, having no use for it...is it possible for me to download it to my machine (Vista or XP sp2) and recieve calls without subscribing? If it helps with the sound quality, I'll do it.

Fred is teh evil.
So, after listening to the latest Butcher Block we all know that Fred is aware of the title of the 5th Alera book. The title apparently contains massive spoilers because he won't share it us.
Possible spoilers ahead.
Could it be because the 5th title is Princeps Fury?
The last few titles have given us an insight into Tavi's current positions
Academ's Fury he was of course an Academ at the academy. Cursor's Fury he is already a Cursor. Captain's fury I'm assuming he will continue to be the captain of the First Aleran.
The next logical step in the story line is for him to take up his rightful position as Princeps, so why not Princeps Fury?

It'll sure surprise the fans when Tavi loses all his status in the next novel and the fifth book is titled "Random Titleless Yobbo's Fury."
