I just found this in my Google Alerts:
Quote from: Dear Author.com
You know you are big time when you get to sell unnamed book 12 and unnamed book 13.
Jim Butcher’s DRESDEN FILES 12 and DRESDEN FILES 13, new books in the successful series, now also a television show, featuring Harry Dresden, wizard-for-hire, in Chicago, to Anne Sowards at Roc, in a significant deal, by Jennifer Jackson at the Donald Maass Literary Agency.

I hope this is the right place to post this: I tried searching but found no previous mention. If it shuold be someplace else, moving it would be a kindness, thank you.

If you can hear the squeeing all the way from Amersham, I'm too loud…but unapologetic Grin

I'll be highly suprised if Jim doesn't get to finish the series.

Even, if by some weirdness, he gets dropped by his current publisher, another would pick him up.

Adding a big SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

WooHoo!  I would think any publisher`d be nuts to drop this series, but it`s nice to get some affirmation of continuity.

Can I assume there was a typo or just forgot to mention book 11?  Or is 11 already paid for so to speak?

I would assume so. Most that do series tend to sell their unwritten books pretty far in advanced. I think Rowling sold 7 back when she was writing like 3...

I just wasn't too sure thats all.  So far all the talk I have heard about so far has been him writing Small Favor, and the fact that he has gotten the contract to write the last 3 Alera books, the 4th I guess just being finished (writing that is, god only knows how long it will have to go through editing).

The next Dresden book won't be out for another year, but we have a Dresden short story coming up in September in "Many Bloody Returns" and the fourth Codex Alera novel in December to tide you over!
