I stopped by Borders on my way home looking for Monster Squad and for a place that was air conditioned I could kill time and work on re-reading White Night, and saw the show for 20% off.

I have to say I'm highly disappointed.  I mean I'm glad I finally have the show, but still...I have HD digital cable with a DVR...I don't buy DVDs for the movie/show...I buy them for the extras.  There's one special on the making-of that's horrible generic and only two commentary tracks.  And there's a handful of deleted scenes and the only one that makes me care is there's one with a shot of Mister.

But honestly, this was not worth $35 with tax to me.  $20, sure...but not that much.

Hell, they could've asked me...I'd have done a full season's worth of commentary tracks talking about comparisons (positively) to the books and background to the world from the books for free.

If I get bored enough, I might just do it anyway...

Meh...I wouldn't complain, but honestly I don't re-watch TV shows all that much...movies, yeah, but not shows...especially since I've been every episode of Dresden two times at least (once when it aired and once again after my roommate got home).  I just...I don't know...it's good that it's available, but I just wish there had been more to it...

The 20% off deal seals it for me. I've been pulling my hair out waiting for a shipping problem to get worked out so I can finally get my hands on the DVD set, but if it can be had that inexpensively I will pick up a retail copy at Borders, too. When/if my Amazon copy arrives I can later share the wealth in the form a a nice Dresden-filled birthday gift for one of my friends. Need to get 'Monster Squad' while I'm at it. Thanks for mentioning it.

...plus, I can snag some good coffee and brownies!
