Yay, Jim's world is getting the graphic novel treatment it so richly deserves. I really appreciate the way the Dresden universe has expanded in the last 12-18 months. Short stories, TV show and now graphic novels telling some new stories as well. It's a good bit of news. Good luck to everyone involved in the process, I'm sure it'll be fantastic! Smiley

I don't know if this question has been asked or answered but what kind of delay (if any) is there with releasing the GNovels in Europe the UK?  Cheesy

Well shops in the UK use Diamond UK (the Distributor of comics) so I believe if there was any type of delay it be nothing more than a week. But usually the same day we get comics here in the US the UK gets the same comics.

You just have to make sure your shop orders the book. I'll be sure to get you guys all the helpful info you will need for ordering the books as soon as I have it.

Just curious, but what's up with the Dabel Brothers Website?  I seek comic-y goodness, but site for me.  No forums either  Cry.

Total re-haul of the site. It why we haven't really made any official announcements as of yet.

Should be done soon.

Ok, I've been gone a week, but Derek, did you ever mention who you were in the process of making the book? Smiley

I may have just missed it. I have jet lag and a head cold, and Houston smells like mold.

Will the comic be available by subscription?

Also, if  the concept avatars are supposed to be Harry,I'm gonna take the part of the loyal opposition here.  The hard-boiled private eye isn't ever supposed to be the pretty one.  Those look like drawings of male models.  Now if they're supposed to be pictures of Thomas, they're great.

I'm a little worried here.

first off, my apologies for not making introductions first, I registered here mainly to post my concerns first and I'll say hi and get into the community more after wards.

last I heard Dabel brothers and Marvel went their own seperate ways, in fact Anita Blake is no longer being printed because of it, though Marvel still holds the rights. I don;t know if Hedge knight is still being made, though I wouldn't be surprised if that's a no.

I've asked around with a few comic book artists I know, and a lot of them want nothing to do with Dabel Brothers. I am getting the feeling these guys buy up the rights for good-standing books to cash in the the sheer sales of comics the fanbase will buy, instead of putting out a good comic.

I seriously hope that's not the case. I will most likely still end up buying the comic, but I don't wanna be dissapointed

The past couple weeks, I've been in frequent contact with Ernst Dabel, oldest of the Dabel Brothers, and his excitement about the project has cemented my confidence in both him and the series.  The artist they hired is excellent, and Ardian and Ernst seem absolutely committed to producing the best, most faithful adaptation possible.  The concept art is gorgeous and seems to be prised straight out of Jim's imagination.

I understand your concerns, Seradhe, but I strongly believe that they are groundless.  Jim has an amazing amount of creative control.  I'm convinced that the Dresden comic is going to kick serious ass, and I can't wait to see the first pages of the comic itself!

... and if I had spent the 5 minutes to read every post in the forum instead of just the first and last pages, I'd probably have tried to not sound so negative. take mouth, insert foot...

I admit I went a little overboard. I blame it mostly on this ( http://trialsze.deviantart.com/journal/ ). I e-mailed him asking about specifics, but jumped the gun and posted here before getting his reply (still waiting).

... and my own less-than-happy feelings about the Anita Blake comics were the extra-pickles on my bigot-burger.

The fact remains that I will still buy every Dresden comic. I'm too much of a fan of Jims work not to. I'm sorry for throwing vinegar into the mix without actually thinking through what I was doing. won't happen again.

.. and if I'm still welcome, I'll try to be a more polite member of the forums

I'm the Wizard of Oz for DB PRO...The man behind the curtain.  Lot's of stuff that goes on behind the scenes I have my hands in. Basically I'm the one to make sure that most of the problems have been noticed before you guys get the book. I do a whole lot of boring busy work. I also take care of the online fan relations.
