I would think that the spellwork would have to happen at the time of creation of the tattoos, to be honest, so that any magical effect would be embedded in the ink before it went in. It would seem tougher to apply it after.

Well people get touch ups on tattoos a lot. So she could get the color touched up and have a spell woven in at that time.

I'm actually surprised though that Harry hasn't taken any body mod ques from Molly. Or am I the only one who see the potential benefit to having multiple sources of force rings throughout your body?

Maybe Harry will run into a super dangerous wizard who's got a body full of piercings that are all loaded up with various focuses and consider it at least. Even though pierced nipples isn't really something I could see on Harry. ;p

Remember how the shield bracelet seared Harry when overloaded. Now imagine that ALL OVER, under his SKIN. Cheesy

Up until the point you get into a brawl and someone yanks on one of them...

Oh, but it does.  Harry is actually very respectful of authority that he considers 'legitimate'.

Granted; but he does personally reserve judgement on who is legitimate and who not.

Quote

She smiled, rising. "I understand your refusal to allow another to control your life.  It's a poisonous, repugnant notion to think of someone who would dictate your every move, impose upon you a code of behavior you could not accept, and refuse to allow you choice, expression, and the pursuit of your own heart's purpose."

"Pretty much," I said.

The fallen angel smiled.  "Then believe me when I saw that I know precisely how you feel.  All of the Fallen do."

A little cold spot formed in the pit of my stomach, in spite of the despite the hot tub.

Harry got a little reminder that his rebellious attitude isn't always a good thing, applied wrongly it could put him in the same category as Satan...who's knocking on his door already.

See, I read that not as putting Harry in the same not-always-good category as the Fallen, but putting the Fallen in the same category as Harry, and making them somewhat more understandable thereby.  Suggesting, in other words, that in the Dresdenverse the Fallen might have a genuine point.

The reading doesn't fit the context of the scene, though.  The whole scene is of Harry rejecting the temptation Lash was offering, recognizing it as being a trap.  In that context, the cold chill is a recognition of a kinship in him to the evil side.  He's had the same realization when he was being tempted by Nicodemus and Mab.

Sorry, but I agree with neurovore on this one.

In the scene described, Harry's already rejected Lash's aid on the grounds that she's a Fallen Angel, and therefore everything she does is *by nature* toward some evil master goal.  Her parting shot is pointing out that the Fallen aren't necessarily evil simply for having rejected Heaven's mandate (which is what a Fallen Angels means in the first place).

Harry has a chill because he realizes that she has a point.

Hell even if Harry didn't think she had a point.... I did.
