I just went on a Terrence Mann (Bob of the Dresden Files) based shopping spree.   Today I recieved Mrs. Santa Claus (which features Terrence Mann singing that God-awful Tavish Toy song).   And I went to FYE where I bought A Chorus Line on DVD and a disc of Cats.   I'm not really a huge fan of Cats so I sent that to a friend.    But in total I think I spent about sixty dollars in Terrence Mann related items.   Does this count as an addiction?

It's not my fault.  It's Bob's fault.

In regard to the Tavish Toy Thing in Mrs. Santa Claus I posted the following in the multimedia forum but I know those who would be interested don't haunt that area.

------------

I was watching Mrs. Santa Claus and as I contemplating how many of the songs melodies were breaking copyright laws for sounding a little too much like other pre-existing songs and as I was also feeling my brain melting into a puddle of ooze at my feet (Damn you, Terrence Mann!) I noticed something...

Terrence Mann's character, Augustus Tavish wears three rings (Not the same rings Bob wears in The Dresden Files).  That man's got a thing about characters who wear jewelry, doesn't he?

Anyway, I'm not done watching the craptacular movie.  I'll post again when I'm finished with the 'fun' of watching Terrence Mann react like Dracula to a crucifix when Mrs. Claus asks him to hug a teddy bear...

----------------

Well, I finally finished watching Mrs. Santa Claus. It's cute but the songs REALLy get obnoxious.  At one point it felt like they were trying to recreate Newsies in a ten minute time frame.   Terrence Mann's entire dialogue content could fill up maybe twelve minutes at best though I must admit he can make any role seem semi-serious.

The most (it looked unintentional) comical moment for me was when Tavish (Terrence Mann) confronts Mrs. Santa Claus in the stable near the end.

Tavish: 'We meet again Mrs. North.  Or should I say... Mrs. Claus.'   He sounded like a James Bond villain.  How the Hell did he keep a straight face?

And she replies with 'How did you know?'

And he starts explaining with 'Oh, I had my suspicions all along.  Your knowledge of toy making of starters.'

I replayed that scene like three times.   I don't know if I had just gone loopy from the Saccherine sweet quailty of the film or if that really was funny but I couldn't stop laughing.

And less than three minutes after that Tavish was suddenly good because she gave him a teddy bear...

-------------------------

Also in regard to this movie I have to comment that my friend Sarah, when she found out what I was watching replied with 'For the love of God don't look at it!' like it would melt my flesh like in Indiana Jones...
