I enjoyed the art and story very much.  It has the familiar feel of a Dresden story.

It was great actually seeing Harry cast the tracking spell.  If the cops found out that he took the glasses of a homicide victim, he will be in trouble.  If Murphy finds out, there will be hell to pay.

Speaking of Murray, I liked seeing her more antagonistic interaction with Harry.  It really helps set this story near the beginning of the series.

The Blue Beatle started this story looking pristine but Harry's car takes as many beatings as him.  Unfortunately it does not having the wizarding physiology that repairs itself perfectly over time.  It should now match the repairs mentioned in Storm Front.

Somethings seemed out of place:
1) The blasting rod appeared to be the same size as a magic wand.  (I haven't got #2 yet so I don't know if we saw this before)
2) Harry's staff was glowing in the Undertown
3) I did not think Harry had even one force ring until several novels into the series.  His battle with the Shadowman at the end of Storm Front might have been easier if he had this ring.

At this rate I wouldn't be able to afford to protect mankind from the perils of black magic.  Hell's bells, that would be really embarrassing.

I'm thrilled that folks are enjoying the comics so much!

1)  Jim described the blasting rod for us as the size of a police nightstick--about the length of his forearm, and about 5 inches in circumference.

3)  He had a force ring in Fool Moon.  It's how Flat-Nose got his nickname. Cheesy

It's no surprise, though.  Every aspect of this comic has turned out perfectly.  A lot of things went right, and seemingly nothing went wrong.

I didn't know anything about the Dabels and their track record, so I had fears that this might turn out like, say, the early ST:TNG comics.  Then again, Jim is scripting, and you guys are consulting, so things weren't ever going to get out of hand.  And now I know that the Dabel Brothers are fantastic publishers.

Besides, these issues dole out new plot and world details to us addicts.  How could we not love them?

So, roughly about an inch and a half thick, then.

So Harry could have had the Force Ring during Storm Front but never mentioned it since he had discharged most of the power and it would not have any helped him at all. Cool.

I am definitely sticking with the comics.  I don't mind the challenge of getting them since they are so good.  Hopefully when I don't have to travel so much it will be easier to get them.

So far I have to admit it's good to know that Mister Really Is That Big.  He dwarfs poor Will when she holds him.

All the speculation about what Harry's apartment looks like can be sorted out now.

I agree that the Beetle should be a bit more multi-color and beat up than issue #3 seems to depict, although probably not as totally patchwork as later stories describe.

I also liked the dry little reference to "important wizardly supplies", i.e., Burger King food.  Has anyone suggested to Burger King that they give Jim a Celebrity Gold Card, recently in the news because Jay Leno and Hugh Laurie have them? Jim certainly routes enough business to BK via The Dresden Files to qualify!

Based on a hint someone (Priscellie?) dropped a while back, I think the Leopard Will Get His Spots by the end of issue #4.

After all the damage those doors took in the dog chase?  Yeah, the Beetle is gonna be pretty multicolored when the day is done!
