I agree with you, Blaze, Kat Beckinsale would make a great Lara Raith!

Can anyone else see Sam Elliott as Morgan?  I think he does intense very well and he can definitely do menacing.

Sam Elliot would make a great Ebenezer.  The attitude and the accent are a perfect fit.  Not sure on the physical description, I'd need to do a re-read to see if that's a match.  But even if he doesn't match the description I think he's pretty much got the fixings for a fine Blackstaff.

He could pull off vampiric, no problem. He's not overly tall, the voice isn't the best match, but that could be worked a little.

*scratches chin*  You're right, Sam Elliott would make a great Ebenezer, too.  And he could most definitely pull off the bad ass aspect of the Blackstaff as well as the down home country boy.  However, for some weird reason, I keep seeing a younger Wilford Brimley (Bess Armstrong's father in "High Road to China", particularly) as Ebenezer.

Shocked  I never would have thought of Sam Waterston, but you're absolutely right!

Okay, I used the search function and it looks like no one has proposed casting Joe Flanigan as Harry Dresden.  The guy would be perfect!  Granted he's not 6'5", but he's dead on the money otherwise, down to the 5 o'clock shadow, lanky frame and wild hair.  Plus, he's great with the snark and loves doing action/adventure heroes.

Well, when Jim said he'd always pictured Alexi Denisov as Harry, that image got stuck in my head and apparently nothing can dislodge it. Cheesy

Yep, I can definitely see Alexis Denisof as Harry.  He would do very well portraying Harry over the long term, going from the raw, relatively inexperienced and still somewhat naive Harry of "Storm Front" to the much more jaded and hardened character of the later books.

That said, I'm still partial to Joe Flanigan's grittiness and fire.
