I did not get turned onto Dresden until Dead Beat came out, soooooo, I would love to be able to get the first six books in HC if they came out.  I also have young children, who love to tear apart books.  Working on that!  But I tend to have a better track record with my hc books staying together.

Heck, I just wish they were all available as eBooks!  Only two of them were released in eBook format - Summer Knight and Blood Rites...I love the portability of them, and the ability to quickly search for something in them.

I got Wizard for Hire off of Amazon; they don't have new copies, but you can get slightly used ones.  Mine came in perfect condition, and I'm very happy with it.

I would buy them if they were reissued in HC. But I only really need #6. I have the SFBC books and the last two in HC, #6 is the only one that I could only get in PB. I am officially a Harry addict, Jim has been moved to my top 5 favorite authors. I just got the Codex books in the mail today, I will be reading the a.s.a.p.

I'd re-buy them in hardcover.  I'd prefer if they made all the covers match, b/c I kinda hate that they changed mid-stream.  I mean, I love having 'the guy' on the cover, but I'd prefer for all the covers to keep the same theme.  But I'm picky like that. Wink

I love the portability of the omnibus editions. I have a tendency to reread favorites when I travel and these editions are great for traveling.

I would love to have HC copies of the first few Dresden Files. YES I would buy them again. I am so hard on paperback books, and I re read everything I really love so much that I tend to ruin them.

I never bought ANYTHING hard cover really until the Dresden Files. I am really really glad Alera started that way.

So yes please.

I would absolutely buy them in Hardcover.

I like my earmarked paperbacks, but they disentegrate over time, people borrow them and return them a little more battered.

My hardcover collection is extensive... from my time as an English Major in undergraduate school and then in graduate school to now, where I scour library sales for very old versions of Shakespeare and Homer.  Authors that mean a lot to my collection must be in hardcover so that I can hold onto them, and be the only one to use them.

The paperbacks are then distributed to friends, who become fans and buy their own hardcovers.

See?  There's a method to my madness.

I would buy the first books in hardcover because I know I'll want to have them around for a long time and I take much better care of hardcovers. Before the Dresden Files, the only books I bought in hardcover were Harry Potter.

I know I would. Smiley
The paperbacks are nice, but they simply look cheesy beside my Dead Beat and Proven Guilty hardcovers.
Hardcovers are nice because:
1. They are more durable than paperbacks.
2. They are sexy! Err... I mean, they look great on bookshelves.

i totally agree! a hc issue of dresden 1-6 would be very nice - where can i pre-order?^^
