Ah well.  That's television.  I wish we'd been given another season, because I think we were starting to really find our feet.  But alas, tis not to be.

So thanks one last time to the cast, the crew, my fellow writers, and all our talented directors.  We gave it our best.

Also thanks to everyone who watched.  Thanks for your faith and thanks for those 12 hours of your lives.  We're glad you liked the show.  We wish we could have given you more.

And thanks of course to Jim.  Thanks for trusting Hans, David and me to bring your amazing character to life.  Sorry we couldn't make it last a little longer, but we know the books will continue to rock for years to come.

All my best to everyone.

Robert, Is there any chance that fandom may force the show to be resurrected? While it is is rare it isn't unprecedented. Jericho and the Family Guy being two examples. Perhaps if DVD sales were exceptional? And if the call from SciFi is in fact final, is there any way Lionsgate could shop the show out to another network? Dresden would mesh very well with Monk and Psych on USA.

While I'm not suggesting the show is NOT done, I'm still not seeing SciFi actually admitting that...just inference because Paul's moved on.

Again, this is not to suggest there's the possibility of a 2nd season, just a comment on SciFi itself.

Seeing as Paul has a new job, I'd think it extremely unlikely.  The show really rides on him and without him, it'd have to be completely redone.

Thank you, Robert, and all of the cast and crew and writers for the show. It was a very enjoyable 12 hours, and I'm sad that it won't be back.

PB supposedly has reoccuring role & is not part of the regular cast...

Besides, IF Sci-Fi can't see what they have, then we move on. As I said on another post:

I don't care WHAT channel the Dresden Files is on!! I just want it on TV where I can watch it!

I have NO problem with NOT WATCHING SCI-FI CHANNEL. If they don't want to support their viewers, then they shouldn't be surprised when their scorned viewers don't support them.

We've been waiting for confirmation - now we have it. The JUST RENEW IT campaign is now officially the NEW HOME 4 TDF campaign!

We're going to need everyone, and that includes the folks who didn't feel inspired before, to pitch in & let Lionsgate know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that TDF is worth every second & every penny they can spend on it & that the fans will follow the show & promote it WHEREVER it is!!

I hope everyone will pitch in & help Save Dresden!
Smiley

And Mr. Wolfe, when we get TDF on somewhere, I certainly hope you'll agree to be there & a part of it. Your work is wonderful, & really hope you continue to help bring Harry & Bob to life. Smiley

Thank you, Robert for actually caring about the fans.

I personally don't think it's Paul's fault.  They were supposed to tell us all if it was renewed three months ago.  It seems they delierately waited until they knew Paul had work to make the announcement so that they could use him as the excuse and to me that's low.

But thank you, Robert, for respecting us, and telling us what you could and when you get the chance please do tell us what would ahve happened in season two, and the Bob Winifred story, please.

And yes, Mickey, unfortunately scifi wire says it's official that it's over.

And Robert, I think it's shameful how the Scifi channel treated all of you.

Cry Awww...Damnit. It was a relatively good show with a lot of potential. Undecided

So, what was it that killed it? Not enough viewers? Bad reviews? What?

You guys did a great job, just sometimes people get difficult.

Funny that you use that name. Lone_She_Wolf is my live journal name.

Anyway, the official word appears to be that it's because Paul moved on even though he only moved on three months after the renewal was supposed to be made and it wasn't.  The early rumours were that the show was attracting 'the wrong demographic' (many older females instead of young boys).   It had high ratings.  It was under budget but they were using sponsors intended for a different audience.  Scifi simply wanted a difference audience even though it was a fairly large audience.

They waited on the announcement of it's cancellation until Paul had new work so they could blame him.
